A teen fell into a well while shooting Instagram reel


Dombivli: A teenager drowned in a well in the British-era pump house in Thakurli. This teenager had gone to shoot a reel for his social media account with two of his friends. Police gave information about this. Though the incident took place on Sunday, the body of 18-year-old Bilal Sohail Sheikh could be retrieved after 32 hours on Monday evening.

Seeing Bilal falling into the well, the two friends accompanying him approached a security guard for help. The guard informed Vishnu Nagar police station, and a search was started immediately.

Senior police inspector Pandinath Bhalerao of Vishnu Nagar police station suspected that the three friends, residents of Chand nagar in Mumbra, could have been intoxicated. Bhalerao said that the friends of the deceased had claimed that he accidentally fell into the well while shooting the reel, but we will conduct an inquiry to understand the sequence of events leading to the death. The Pump House was constructed by the British and very few people visit this place. There is a security guard stationed there.

A Dombivli fire official said that our team searched for more than a day and found his body on Monday evening, 32 hours after the incident. Bilal's demise has shaken the residents of Chand nagar. People around remembered Bilal as a reel star.

Police have registered a case of accidental death, and further investigation is on in the matter.
