Kalyan-Karjat downline stalled


Ulhasnagar: Central train traffic came to a standstill between Kalyan and Karjat. Railway traffic from Kalyan towards Karjat was completely blocked on Sunday, while traffic towards Mumbai was delayed by half an hour due to rain.

However, traffic was moving smoothly from Kalyan station to CST as the Kasara-Kalyan route was smooth. An empty local coach derailed at Ambarnath, disrupting rail traffic. The track repair work was done on a war footing by bringing the derailed coach onto the track, and only after that, the traffic could resume.
