Student commits suicide after getting low marks in NEET

 

Gondia. Sad news has been received about the hanging of an 18-year-old girl 25 km away from here. On June 14, 18-year-old Saloni Ravi Gautam, a resident of Amgaon, committed suicide by hanging herself a few hours after the declaration of the result of NEET 2023, a national-level examination for medical education, due to low marks.

According to the information received, Saloni was preparing for the exam for some time. She was under stress for a few days. Meanwhile, when the result was declared on June 13. Saddened Saloni went to her study room and hanged herself with a stole when all the people in the house were asleep. When her mother woke up in the morning, she saw the heart-wrenching incident and the police were immediately informed.

The dead body was sent to the rural hospital for postmortem. There is an atmosphere of mourning here because of this incident. The NEET exam is considered very important for admission to MBBS and medical courses. Saloni's father himself runs coaching classes. Saloni was the niece of Rajendra Gautam, the chairman of the Panchayat Samiti, and she passed her 12th standard examination in the year 2023. She got good marks in 12th. Due to this, she was expecting good marks in the NEET exam as well
but didn't get success as expected, and she took this step in despair. Police have registered the case and started an investigation.
